Taiao Fieldworks Kaimahi

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the position 

Our Taiao Team, Te Ngahuru Tikotikoiere, works across places of key cultural and historical significance, bringing Mātauranga Māori and Rongowhakaata environmental leadership into hands-on restoration mahi.

We have 1 Full time role available to start ASAP.

The purpose of the Taiao Fieldworks Kaimahi is to protect, enhance and nurture our natural environment to ensure its availability for future generations.

Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Taiao Team Lead to achieve annual work programme including Te Wherowhero, Rakaukaka, Pipiwhakaō, Waikanae Stream and Tamarau Wetlands, restoration projects.

  • Assist with the establishment and management of RIT’s Nursery   

  • Assist in propagation; planting; weed control and general maintenance

  • Maintain a good understanding of site planning and maintenance
